BenPicks is a publication of BEN PICKS S.R.L. This page explains the standard we are building for research, comparisons and future product evaluations.
1. We define the reader and decision
Before comparing products, we define the intended user, the job they need to complete and the criteria that matter for that decision. A tool can be a strong choice for one reader and a poor choice for another.
2. We examine available evidence
Research may include official documentation, current pricing, release notes, support materials, product demonstrations and direct access where available. Vendor claims are treated as claims, not as independently verified facts. Articles should link to important primary sources whenever practical.
3. We compare on consistent criteria
Products within the same comparison are assessed using criteria relevant to the category, such as:
- Output or capability — What does the product appear able to deliver for the stated use case?
- Ease of use — How fast can a real person get value from it?
- Features that matter — Not feature count; feature usefulness.
- Value for money — Honest cost vs. what you get, including the plan you’ll really need.
- Support & reliability evidence — What support, status and service information is available?
4. We label the basis of the article
We distinguish source-led research from direct product observations. We do not describe an article as hands-on tested unless that work has been completed and can be documented. Where access was provided by a vendor, the article should say so.
What “Ben’s Pick” means
The Ben’s Pick label identifies an editorial recommendation for a defined use case. Affiliate availability is not part of the selection criteria. The label may change as products, evidence and reader needs change.
We keep reviews current
AI tools change quickly. We review material updates when practical and show a publication or update date. A recent date should indicate a meaningful editorial review, not an automatic date change.
